Feminist magazines like Cosmopolitan and TV programs like Gossip Girl, and Sex in the City, among others, glamorize women’s promiscuous behavior. As a result, women are seduced by that false image of women’s sexual strength and imitate that unrestrained, restless behavior they see on the media. To later suffer the detrimental consequences like increase rate of women acquiring STD’s, more men engaging them in “modern harems"-having sexual relationships with different women on a regular basis-, divorces on the rise and high percentage of unwed mothers. In The United States every year approximately 1.7 million children are born of sex to unwed mothers. Therefore, no just women are affected but their children too, who in many cases end up fatherless.
